I’m kinda wondering if Taylor is interested in being a movie director.
Maybe she can do that.
The concept of the music video, the casting, the storyline… I mean it’s not that different from other Asian pop cinematic music videos but now it is a “Taylor Swift” version of it.
It has potential.
I do think Taylor might as well sink her teeth into screenplays. Actually extend beyond a few minutes of a music video.
It’ll be interesting to see if she can do it. Even if she starts with small projects. Maybe a 20 minute short film. Something like that.
I wonder if she needs to find a studio to back her up or if she’s enough of a billionaire to self-fund.

I think even if she did a short series. You know like how Black Mirror has a different topic each episode?

It feels very removed from my personal life and experiences.
And frankly, I don’t really care right now…

But you said you wanted her to cover mature topics. I think her MV is quite mature.
I can see the marketing angle but it just doesn’t appeal to me.
I would have rathered viewed that entire story as a feature length film. It’s very heavy topics. That would be a film I would watch one rainy day on Netflix or Amazon Prime or even Apple TV. Whoever will give her the funding. Starring Collin Farrel and Dakota Johnson, that’s fine. If you fleshed it out, I would watch it.
I feel like I just watched a trailer for a movie that doesn’t exist but I wouldn’t mind watching it if it did!
But as a song that I might choose to stream on my “driving to work” playlist? No… that’s not it.
