It seems the main character reminds people of whoever they follow. I don’t even know some of these groups mentioned and they’re like “That scene is exactly what happened to [insert real idol and groups name]!!!” It’s very apparent in the fandom’s lore that the show is critiquing the toxic fan behaviour?!
