Well… I think from a young age my parents always made it seem as if having a government job was an honourable thing.

Like they would talk about this Aunty or that Uncle or cousins and acquaintances who work for the government and like they are serving the people —

Like there’s that honour in having a government job?

All of a sudden — to think — “oh they’re just replacing this entire department of human workers with AI” — what is that?!

It’s like losing a reliable family member to a vending machine?!

But humans can be corrupt. AI could be completely impartial.

Sigh… … … I don’t have an ethics degree. I know there’s other problems with humans. But my GUT FEELING is still in shock and not feeling right about it.

My GUT FEELING is still, like, why am I paying taxes for them to replace humans with AI?! It just doesn’t make sense to me in my brain.

A private company that wants to use AI? Sure. I get it. Go chase those profits. But a government department?!?!?!

U haven’t finished ur thought… ur cooking up a dystopian science fiction novel about a government run by robots and the humans are the enslaved “energy generators” on the planet and every human is like a mouse on a hamster wheel except the wheels are connected to a central power source and wind and water mills and it powers the AI as well and the AI gives humans the technology for self-sufficient farming technologies and infrastructure and everything and the entire planet runs like clockwork it’s like a well oiled machine except there is no soul. The planet is Soulless. The humans are scheduled to wake up. Eat. Run on the mouse wheel. Generate electricity. Then go to bed and the next day is the same. They don’t even fall in love because the machines keep males and females segregated and just use IVF for all birthing of new humans.
