The computer was literally down, we had to make paper note of everything that was sold and say to the customers sorry we can only take cash and then used a calculator if we needed and just exchange cash and then if they wanted a receipt write out a PAPER receipt with our own handwriting!

Lol… wow…

Luckily I am am millennial, I’m not too bothered by this. I can imagine if we had Gen Z or alpha staff that day, they might feel quite flustered?!?!!

What about the customers?!?!?!

They just went to the ATM to get cash. We could hold their items behind the counter for them then they come back in 5 minutes to pay cash for their items!

It really can happen if the computers are down babe… I’ve experienced it. Post-covid era. It was like 2024 or 2023 I can’t remember now. But it happens!

Luckily the op shop even had paper receipt booklets as backup. I don’t think BIG CHAIN retailers have that?!?!

YES!!!!!!!!! They were very nice, very polite little old grandma’s and grandpa’s and they would still make payments with a CHEQUE BOOK.
