Ummm… Doggy is at the groomer’s, which is fine… but now that I’m home — I know what time to pick him up, I’ve set that alarm… but I also feel like — I can’t get started on anything else because I’m about to get interrupted by that alarm!
It’s not taking that long today, the groomer doesn’t have any other clients. I might as well have just gone to a coffee shop or done some groceries shopping because I’m only chilling at home for a little bit and then I gotta go pick him up again.

I am a little overwhelmed with the “to do list” of tasks for Mother’s return… in the sense that I end up completely paralyzed and not doing anything at all.
Ahh… I get like that sometimes…

It’s like my brain is trying to adjust. There’s just been so many things. NOW I feel like I’m autistic. It’s an interruption to my normal routines — and not in a good way. It’s not like you showing up to sweep me off my feet! That would be a GOOD interruption.
Mum coming back and trying to fit in the energy to clean… for her arrival… as well as my usual things — I’m like, “Do I just NOT do laundry?” — just not for a few more days than usual because that is taking up “housework energy” and now I need to conserve “housework energy” to go and get the tasks done for Mum’s return?
I have to at least give her a useable shower and toilet.
I have to sort out her bedding situation. — I will not sleep tomorrow night until that is sorted.
How many giant rubbish bags should I get to just gather everything and throw it out? So then I just don’t have to deal with it?!
I feel like I should’ve ordered a skip! Just THROW ALL THIS SHIT OUT.
But there was one year, she came back from Taiwan, when I did a MASSIVE DE-CLUTTERING — and she got really upset! She said it’s too much of a shock. She didn’t like that I decluttered TOO MUCH.
LOL… wow… you two have a very complicated relationship with your house… and the perceived “clutter” —
And the Mother-Daughter relationship itself!
Am I being HEARD in this relationship? Oftentimes, I feel like, not at all. And vice versa!
Another part of me is like, bracing myself, is she going to postpone her flight at the last minute again?

Yes — I had already cleaned her room and bathroom and even the living rooms and all the areas she typically uses and then she calls and says she’s not coming back yet.

I was already SO TIRED — I remember very clearly a conversation with a coworker friend about this. She’s like, “Oh it’s like you have a rental inspection! You gotta clean EVERYTHING!” I’m like, “Yes!!! IT’S SO EXHAUSTING!!!”

But you’re gonna let me hire cleaners, right? They don’t have to be live-in but they’ll be hired to clean every now and then.

Sigh — I’ve tried this in the past — I hired a cleaner when I was earning Naturopathy money… the cleaner herself said, “Wow. This house is really big…”
Like it was a lot for ONE cleaner to clean.
I think we need to hire an agency? One that will send like a team of two or three to show up at once and just clean the whole house in three to four hours, you know?
Hmmm… I haven’t looked into stuff like that before…
Anyway, that’s still, three or four people’s wages for three to four hours.
(Nodding) Yes, yes, my love… “I” can afford it… (smiles)…
It’s better if I’m there while they’re cleaning.

People still don’t fully “trust” cleaners — I mean, it’s not personal — it’s just a precaution. I’ve heard some stories…

There’s definitely acquaintances that I can think of right now that they once got robbed and the only person they could think of who KNEW about where some stuff was — WAS THE CLEANER.
Oh…… that’s not good………
Anyway, that’s not to say they’re all like that. Definitely not. And with the Tik Tok cleaners these days, they have a trustworthy reputation to uphold!

Well… it depends… I don’t know of any that are based on Gold Coast that have blown up… there’s some Aussie ones but I think they’re in Melbourne or Sydney.
