But in Taiwan… my brother can be dual citizen… and there was some paperwork for him to fill out… but he doesn’t have to do National Service… so that is a difference in our countries, evidently…

Well, there’s many Taiwanese guys who live overseas that you could ask as well. There’s not many that go back to do national service; it’s not required with a bit of extra paperwork when they’re also other country’s citizens…
