I also had a dream about my current workplace, but now that I’m awake the dream doesn’t make sense…

What was the dream?

Well you know how I used to be a naturopath?

Yes…

My manager was in my dream, and she asked me to work — for my current workplace — the same way I used to work for my previous workplaces as a naturopath.

And in the dream I was going through all these negotiations…

But now that I woke up — we don’t sell anything relevant to that. I wouldn’t be put in that situation in real life for my manager to even ask me that!

Yes and no… mostly no… but it was easy to get swept up in the negotiations… it was like, “yeah you’re not at the past workplaces. I’m here now. (The current manager). Just tell me what you want, how you wanna work. We can make it work.” Like she wants to keep me and make sure that I’ll be around for as long as possible…

Oh… is that the underlying feeling of the dream…

Mmmm… I really don’t want any responsibilities in real life.

They’ve mentioned that they could train me to have more responsibilities but I don’t really want it…

Why not?

Because… I like writing. I’m a writer. And I’m studying cybersecurity. And I have other things to do outside of work.

And I wanna be free to clock off and date you… whenever you appear…

I don’t think I will have that kind of freedom if I had more responsibilities…

Nope. Not really… sometimes I just say stuff because it’s polite and expected… it doesn’t really mean I wanted it… even to Taiwanese besties… especially in this context of work or career ambitions… it’s hard to speak my Truth because of the FACE that it would give to my parents.

I still have to seem ambitious… but I’m not!!! I don’t want more responsibilities at my current workplace! I want to marry you and almost do nothing!!! Except continue studying cybersecurity!!!!

Yes. I barely even want the responsibility of this OLD DOG but I just can’t bring myself to abandon him. But at the same time, I know when he has passed away, I don’t want any more pets. Only ROBOT DOGS. I just don’t want it any longer.
