Chinese New Year… Lunar New Year… I still call it Chinese New Year, even though some people kinda get offended…
Well, we’re not all Chinese… there’s many Asian cultures that celebrate the Lunar New Year and they’re not Chinese.
I’m TAIWANESE and I don’t have a chip on my shoulder about calling it Chinese New Year!
Why?
Because — I feel like it honours my ANCIENT CHINESE ancestry!

Am I the only person in the world who isn’t actually technically a mainland Chinese citizen who feels like this?!?!!? It’s called CHINESE New Year because it was ORIGINALLY INVENTED — IN ANCIENT — CHINA!!!
