Yes, of course — I’m not going to be rude and say, “Oh no, I’ll just wait inside while you smoke outside” — I just sat with them… but when I came home I had to wipe my hair with makeup wipes.

I didn’t feel like showering. I already showered before I went. Then when I came home it was just makeup wipes — hair, face, armpits…

Not much — it was too noisy. Again, friends picking places that are too noisy… I don’t like SHOUTING IN CONVERSATIONS IN CROWDED PLACES. Even though I can type like this — in real life — my lungs… especially with this lingering dry cough that I have… I am not going to bother that much…

I know it seems like I’ve had it for a while. But I do also feel like it is getting better but it’s just SLOWLY getting better. But it is getting better… still taking herbs and vitamins and all that…

What did you have to eat?
Kids menu — sliders and chips, and it even included a soft drink! I chose ginger ale. All that for $12 AUD.
Were you full from kids menu?
Yes. It was good. I wasn’t that hungry… adult menu would’ve been too much. And it wasn’t that type of atmosphere to have a full, big main… well, I just didn’t feel like it. I thought, kids menu — nice and easy. Quick. I got out of there by 9:30 pm.

Yeah — actually I was preparing in my mind, “Okay, I’ll probably just hang out until about 9:45 pm…” Then another girl just STOOD UP at 9:30 pm, and I said that I’ll follow her out as well, so we walked on the street together for a little bit until we went in different directions towards our cars.
Was it safe to walk around at 9:30 pm?
Yea, it would’ve been fine to go alone. But I was also glad I was with the other girl for a little bit… like two-thirds of the way towards my car from the pub.
That’s good… What else about tonight?
It was… a little over-stimulating… I hadn’t been to that area of Gold Coast for so long. It’s nothing like my childhood memories now… Of course, it’s been so long… but I rarely went back since the pandemic. I don’t think my usual friends and I have caught up, since the pandemic, in that area at all.
It was a bit of a shock to the system… I think before the pandemic they were still building some infrastructure. Tonight, all of a sudden, I felt like a foreigner in my own city! Like — what is going on?!??! Where did ALL THESE PEOPLE come from!??!?!! It felt kind of crazy. And it was SO NOISY. There were too many buskers. Too much “live music” — I didn’t really like that atmosphere. Now I know why my usual friends and I just avoid this place now… these days…
Where would you and your usual friends go instead?

Yeah… oddly enough, it kind of has a reputation of being the meeting place of people in “show business” on the Gold Coast. Like if you’re having a meeting with a movie director, agent, or producer or anyone in the TV or movie industry — you’re having a meeting at a café or restaurant at Tedder Ave.
