I do feel that… Taylor’s albums… are still… in the “pop” realm… they’re more like pop-folk… Actually when I first heard Folklore I was surprised Taylor went in that direction. And I even had a split second of a thought, “She’s making folk trendy?!” — It was an unexpected direction for her to go…
Basia — I forgot her, though… it hasn’t been that memorable. Maybe after my heart felt “healed” by her music, I simply let her go… but today, I’m connecting with her music again. And I’m remembering — SHE’S SO GOOD!!! I am loving it right now. I am NEEDING it again… It’s like a refreshing drink of water, quenching the kind of thirst I didn’t even realise that I was needing… I don’t know how else to describe this… Maybe I’ve been swirling in the mainstream for too long. Honestly, I don’t think her target audience is even on Tik Tok. I don’t think Tik Tok is the right direction for her. She makes sense at music festivals. She makes sense just being herself… Maybe a little bit on Instagram… but… she is who she is. She doesn’t need to prove it to anybody.
