Her song was in a VW car ad… I really liked it, I think I just googled it from the lyrics in the ad and found her. Then… I don’t know what I used, to listen to her back then. Or did I just buy the whole album on iTunes? I can’t remember. But I really liked her music. I think I found her on Facebook? Or was it MySpace?! Did we have MySpace in 2008?! I really can’t remember now… but I remember I really liked that song, “Little Waltz” — I really felt sad about it at the time, actually… and I guess I just kinda sorta kept it all to myself…

Yeah — Actually I forgot about her until this afternoon… somehow, just creating that “100 Love Songs” list had me thinking about it more… and… I don’t know what happened, something just clicked in my brain this afternoon and I looked her up. No wait — it was Imogen Heap. Imogen Heap was the catalyst.

She’s alright… she’s on the playlist at work. And I guess I also thought about it today at work, it just occurred to me… “I think this song’s by Imogen Heap…” And then, yeah… I did look her up when I got home but then — I don’t feel like adding it to my “100 Love Songs” list — Imogen’s alright, but she’s not making that list. And then — BASIA BULAT! It just hit me like a lightbulb moment! Looked her up on Apple Music… I don’t know what happened to her albums that I used to have. There’s so much lost music with constantly evolving technology and platforms. Did I used to even have her CDs? I can’t remember… it’s possible… but now I don’t know for sure…
How can you not know if you have her CDs?! Why don’t you just go looking in your house to see if you’ve got her CDs?
Because… I discovered her when I was in Taiwan — that I remember, for sure. So — if I do have her CDs… it’ll be in the apartment in Taiwan… But even by now, Mum probably threw them out by now or gave them away or something. I don’t know… (shrugs shoulders)…

Yes and no… it’s not my Number 1 right now… out of all of Basia’s songs that I’m listening to right now, this afternoon… and I’m only listening to her first and second albums. I haven’t even gotten to the recent stuff. I’m going over what I used to listen to. I definitely had her first and second albums — in whatever form, I don’t remember exactly.
