Wedding Venues

My Love, where would you like to get married?

You’re assuming I’ve said yes?

(Hugging) Yesssss…. you’re definitely going to say yessssss….. (kiss kiss)

Okay fine… here are my preferred venues… and it could change. I haven’t personally visited them recently, so these are just lofty ideas…

I’m okay with lofty ideas… I just want to get a sense…

Okay, firstly —

Sheraton Mirage. This is where… Jay Chou got married.

Second place —

The Imperial Hotel. It used to be Versace… I’ve been to other friends’ weddings here when it was Versace. It’s nice. I’m not sure about the rebranded Imperial though and their service, etc…

Third option —

I’m not too keen on this but I’m not sure if you like it? There’s like a small wedding chapel type of place on Mount Tamborine… I don’t mind it but I just feel like the mountain is hard to get to for our guests… I’ve been to one friend’s wedding there… it’s beautiful — but the drive up was tough. It was like, “We got all dressed up to drive up this mountain!!!”

Fourth —

Crystal Castle, Byron Bay. But then?! What does it mean to get married in New South Wales if we are Queenslanders? I don’t know. Also — I’m not sure if they are used to hosting weddings… Okay I just checked their website FAQs and it seems they don’t want to host people’s weddings…

Will bribery work? Maybe they’re just saying that but if I offer them a lot of money we can have a wedding there?

I don’t care about it THAT much — it’s fine… next venue idea…

InterContinental Sanctuary Cove. Another place where I’ve already attended HEAPS of other people’s weddings… hmm… I think it’s quite popular amongst Taiwanese… but yeah… because… it is really, really lovely… the staff are also very experienced with hosting weddings. The feedback I got from other Taiwanese friends is that it was easy and they just did everything… wedding packages, etc. It was relatively easy and smooth to get it all organised at that venue…

You haven’t provided any links. I need to look this up myself?!

Yes… (LOL) Or we can go together in person… as like a “date” while we’re boyfriend-girlfriend…

Oh, so this isn’t like a beach date with mutual friends. This is like a date-date.

I guess so? I think it should be… after you’ve proposed? I don’t think we need to go together if we’re not even engaged?! The staff at the hotels will be asking so many questions! What weirdos we’ll seem like if we’re not even engaged asking so many questions about the venue and services for a wedding!

(Chuckles) Okay… which one do you think I’ll like the most. This seems to be your ranking, but which one do you think I’ll like?

I think… you don’t want to get married where Jay Chou got married… I think… you don’t really care about the Imperial — it’s very European looking… and… you just don’t feel anything about it… the other options — I think you’ll agree Mount Tamborine is difficult to get to… Crystal Castle is already a no, but we’ll go visit as a couple date… that can be any time, actually…

It might be the InterContinental… I think… you’ll walk in to that chapel and feel like, “Ahh, yes… this is it…” I think you’ll really like the glass structure and high ceilings… it’s a small chapel though. You can’t fit that many people… maximum 40 or 50 guests? It’s not a big venue…

I LOVE IT ALREADY. I DON’T WANT TOO MANY GUESTS AT ALL.

(Giggles)

Okay then… maybe… that’s our venue…
