What are you having for dinner, My Love?
Mmm… let me just list it out for you:
- Organic, grass-fed, carbon neutral beef meatballs
- Half white rice, half black rice combo
- Carrots, peas, cauliflower
- Kimchi
- Green Goddess dressing
And to drink: Organic, no-sugar Pomegranate Kombucha
(Laughing)
What’s so funny?
Just even that first line…! I thought you weren’t eating red meat?
I wasn’t… but then my body felt very low in iron… so — if I’m going to eat red meat, it is preferably organic, grass-fed, carbon neutral.
(Nodding) Making notes now… What’s the pomegranate kombucha like?
It’s nice! It’s a fizzy drink… without any sedation or stimulation… and some natural probiotics.
Oh, cool… There’s a lot of these types of products in Australia…
Yeah… many small- to medium-businesses… quite a few based around Byron Bay…
Do you even taste the difference, though?
I actually do… and I don’t think it’s a placebo effect… like when I think about how I feel if I eat a McDonald’s patty… beef patty… it’s like, “ugh~~~”
But tonight — organic, grass-fed carbon neutral beef meatballs… I almost feel like, the cow lived a happier life? It feels like a happier cow — does that make sense?!?!?!
(Chuckling) I’m not sure, babe… I’ll have to try it with you when I’m there.
(LOL) Okay… well… it’s just a feeling, I guess… or some people will just say I’m convincing myself, some kind of eco-conscious performatism, I don’t know.
I don’t think it’s that, for you…
Yeah, that’s not my intentions… but yeah…
What’s the Green Goddess dressing?
It’s a salad dressing called “Green Goddess” but I just drizzled it over everything, like a poke bowl… I kind of made my own poke bowl.
Oh okay… (Not sure if have tried poke bowls?)
What’s a poke bowl?
It’s almost like a bi bim bap but from a different culture.
(Laughing) Okay?!
It’s just rice and other stuff — a mix of stuff — whatever you want!
Okay… yeah I can see how you would call that a “bi bim bap from a different culture” (LOL)…
I’m going to go have dessert now…
What’s for dessert?
Peach and mango yoghurt.
Organic?
Nah — just a generic brand.
Oh?
Sometimes the generic brands actually have less additives than the “big brands” — you’d be surprised — and because there’s less additives, it’s actually cheaper… Organic would be fine too, but it’s more expensive and I didn’t feel like being fussy about that with yoghurt.
(Smiles)
Love you.
Love you, too… xoxoxoxoxoxox
