Do you want another dog? Do you want a puppy?
Not… right now…? I’ve got my hands full with the geriatric dog, and soon classes start again, juggling that and work and everything… (shaking head)… I can’t fit in another dog or a puppy right now.
What about in the future? Sadly, we will have to say goodbye to the geriatric dog one day…
I know. And I’ll need some time after that… He wasn’t really my choice of breed… and circumstances… was more of a compromise with Mum at the time…
I think… I can see a few options.
Firstly, I’ve always like Samoyeds. I love Samoyeds. Some people say they’re kind of a handful, but every Samoyed I’ve ever met on the street has been the cutest, most loveliest dog I’ve ever met! Maybe they have the best owners? I don’t know. But they’re so cute, so huggable, I love them so much…! ^__^

Yes… BUT… and there is a but…
I don’t see myself living with Samoyeds if I live in an apartment. I don’t think I even want a Samoyed if we lived in… Japan?
I think it’s more of a family dog. If we have kids — it’ll be the kids’ dog. Not “my” dog — I don’t want to be that attached, actually. And I’m happy to let the kids take it out for walks every day. It will need daily walks. Maybe even twice a day. That’s a lot.
I can’t commit to that with apartment or townhouse living. It’s not fair to the dog.
Okay… probably no Samoyeds anytime soon…
Yeah… of the toy breeds… I like pugs, I like Pomeranians… they’re cute. And I would want them from puppy age, yes. Because, especially with Pomeranians, they have to get used to us just grabbing them when we need to clean their butts. Clean their teeth. Wipe tear stains off their eyes. All those types of things.
I don’t think I can rescue… maybe foster? But… no more rescues… at this stage of my life…

Yeah… maybe start with a pug in Japan? I don’t know. Then add the Pomeranian later on… if I feel… more confident there? I don’t know.
Confident?
Well, I’ll have to get to know Japanese vets and groomers and people like that, if we really do this?
