Old Diaries?

What happened to your old diaries? Everybody knows you write a lot — pen on paper, on old journals… what happened to them?

I threw them out…

You threw them out?!

Some are shredded… some were simply thrown into a wheelie bin in a fit of rage or regret. I don’t remember exactly. I had a friend recommend that I soak them in a bucket of water so then nobody can read the pages… I can’t remember if I actually did that. I do remember I shredded some… but not all… so… I really don’t know. Probably in a landfill somewhere.

You threw them out in fits of rage?!

Yeah… maybe I was PMSing… (Chuckles)… and so many old blogs. What happened to those accounts? Deleted… Wiped clean… I remember I specifically logged in to delete them and then delete the accounts. Just get rid of it… This is the first blog so far that I haven’t felt like, reading back — Oh no! So cringe! — At least, so far I’m comfortable with it. And it’s been so many attempts. (I can’t even remember if I got absolutely everything but I’m pretty sure I got 99% of everything)… :S

I really didn’t like it when other people would call me up to try to ‘control’ what I was writing in my personal blog. I needed to figure it out on my own… I’m an artist, this is my art. It might not be easy to understand — that’s okay.

I don’t need people to understand.

I need to… get these thoughts and feelings out…

Did you… write about us? In the early 2000s? In paper journals?

I think so. I think I remember packing up from the Carlton apartment and gathering a big box of journals and just binning them… it was all gone.

Why do you do that? You don’t even take photos? Try to save them in a digital document? Anything like that?

I was… thinking about Tibetan sand art… you create the beautiful art, and then you just… wipe it all away. Let it go… I felt the impermanence of it. Let it go… I don’t know, it made sense to me at the time and it’s all gone…

What about this blog, now?

I think this blog will evolve… I’m happy to keep it going… for now… maybe we will talk about it more face to face one day. But so far… I like it… I like writing here as I do… and I do see myself… changing the themes, the topics around… I don’t know, it’s still just as much my own creative exploration as another way of communication…

Okay… so… how do I know when you’re being serious about… wanting to talk to me or anything like that?

I don’t know… Don’t you have a Samsung phone? Can’t we just share notes?

What?!

Didn’t you notice in your Samsung Notes app there is a “Shared Notes – BETA” ?

Kind of like Google docs if you both have the link or something like that? You can collaborate and contribute and write together in the same notes folders?

Oh wait I just clicked on mine… okay, I haven’t enabled it yet in my settings. I don’t want to either. I haven’t even synced my notes to a cloud. I’m still a little paranoid with Cybersecurity.

So… I’d rather work it out face to face one day. We can link up Samsung notes, somehow… but I’d rather do it face to face, and then I’ll enable the settings.

Plus it’s a Beta version… there’s probably still bugs. People will test it out and pick up those bugs — fingers crossed!

You really like Samsung Notes?

Well, I only recently started using it since I started using a Samsung phone… it’s only been a few months? Otherwise I’ve always used Apple’s notes on iPhone and iPad…

How do you write LONG LENGTHS OF TEXTS on Notes?!

I just do. I know — people have commented, “How are you writing like 2000 words on a tiny screen?” — I don’t know, I just AM! My fingers type really quickly, even faster with the predictive text…

(Chuckles)

But it’s rough drafts. Anything on a small screen (iPad included) is a rough draft to me. Laptop or Desktop is the final… “serious” writing!

(LOL) Or how about this, we could just use Samsung Messenger?

I’ve never used Samsung Messenger… is it encrypted?

Yes.

Oh… okay… (LOL)… (Giggles)… I had to ask google to write that! (LOL)

It has to be enabled in the settings.

How to enable end-to-end encryption on Samsung Messages:

  1. Open the Messenger app
  2. Tap Privacy & safety
  3. Tap End-to-end encrypted chats
  4. Tap Message storage
  5. Tap Turn on secure storage
  6. Choose a security method

Both phones have to have this setting turned on for it to be successfully encrypted. We should sort this out in real life, face to face, my darling…

Hmm. Okay… I love you! I love that you’re learning Cybersecurity!

Me too! I mean, I love you, and I love that I’m learning Cybersecurity… LOL
