It’s still green…
I walked outside. Before the sun was too hot.
And I discovered… we don’t have a pool brush. I thought we did? But we don’t.
So, I will need to go buy one.
But —
It felt nice. Around 5:15 am?
Even by 5:30, the sun is starting to get up there.
I thought that I would just brush a little corner, at least, or until it got too hot. And then I would just do a little bit each day, before the sun gets too hot.
I didn’t put on any sunscreen. I was looking forward to absorbing some natural Vitamin D.
Do you need melanin to absorb Vitamin D? I’m not sure… Just googled. I don’t think you do… the more melanin, the harder it is to absorb it?
So, if someone doesn’t have that much melanin… they synthesize Vitamin D more efficiently than those who have more melanin.
All of this is blocked by sunscreen as well.
So… naked skin + sunlight = Vitamin D. Unless the UV rays are too high, then, it’s more harmful because of the UV.
Vitamin D is good for our brains. It’s very important for mood, cognitive health and brain functions…
(We’ve talked about this. I remember…)
Your Super Power. You should get immediate Vitamin D. Just 5 minutes a day?! During the dawn?
Better than the rest of us.
(Even Google’s AI is confirming this for me, right now…)
You “shouldn’t” need to supplement Vitamin D… but who knows… how much natural sunlight are you getting?
…
Anyway so my point is, I faced my fear of the green pool.
And I will get up earlier to go brush that pool, after I get a brush.
And it’s really more comfortable than I thought it would be, to simply be out there in the morning before the sun gets too hot.
I’m waking up naturally around 4:30 am now? It’s just Australian summer…
